I think the retail investors were hurt by the removal of the uptick rule. The market as an investment option for us retail investores is left unfairly balanced to large investors and tilted to the favor of "Not" creating wealth but destroying wealth and corporations without the uptick rule.
While I firmly believe in free markets I believe there needs to be rules in place that help the retail investor. If one of the markets goals is to raise capital and create wealth for the small investor this rule needs to be placed back in use.
