PLEASE REINSTATE THE OLD UPTICK RULE
I have been watching the fall in our economy with great interest as most of the membership in the electrical workers union have lost at least half their retirement income in this latest free fall.
I have listened very intently to varying opinions about the uptick rule and after much thought I see no reason that anyone on wall street needs this rule not to be in effect to make profits.
The rule was put into affect some time ago and the volatility of the markets seem to have increased since the rule was changed in 2007.
As I group we (The union people in general) are starting to look at other ways than the stock market to invest our pensions as it seems that wall street does not have the general investors interest in mind.
