In regards to making additional rules which are thought to make people be honest and trustworthy I get it. However after almost thirty years in the business I have never placed a commission amount above a product type. Matters are always fully discussed and usually presented with two to three different products being shown. Then it is the client or prospect who decides which one meets their needs at the time. I personally do not believe that just making new laws and regulations will ever put a stop to a person who is inherently dishonest or places their needs above the client.
I believe the time and effort should be put into directives aimed at the carriers in making the products easier to understand for the average person and education slots on TV that could describe various investment products to the hard working people of this country.
