Dear Securities and Exchange Commission:
I am a university student at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. I strongly support your initiative to require disclosure of CEO-to-worker pay ratios.
As you are well aware, economic inequality in America is soaring. The numbers that show the benefits of growth since the recession being channeled to the very wealthy are shocking, and clear for any non-specialist to understand.
I am not a stakeholder in any large corporation. I am a stakeholder in our society, of which the corporations are a part.
The least that stakeholders like myself deserve, and a necessary first step to constructive change, is full disclosure and transparency in matters like CEO pay. Please implement the rule to enforce the law.
