These sustainability reports are created in a silo by companies, the investors and the rest of the world knows about it, but often the company misses the nearest impact group.....their employees and stakeholders.
Sustainability reporting should also highlight (or ask) the efforts that the company is doing to inform employees and stakeholders about the efforts they are doing towards becoming a resilient and sustainable business. It would add a sense of pride and would also help in forming a deeper connection between the organization and its employees.
For example, gender pay gap. If a company does fairly well in reducing the gender pay gap, it should be communicated to the employees, as it is a matter of pride, it will also attract more talent.
