I believe that these new laws, while the intent is clearly to help companies like mine raise capital from additional sources, will ultimately not help. in fact, it will even hurt us. It is highly unlikely that established angels will disclose their financial information to small companies like ours, and we do not have the resources to properly evaluate and confirm that other investors are accredited. I urge policy makers to carefully consider my comments and the comments of others - this policy change will alter the landscape for good and do permanent and irreparable damage. Passing a law to say you successfully passed the law won't be useful if the law causes damage and rips a new hole in the emerging businesses of America.
