If a registered fund holds an affiliated private fund, it should not be required to provide the underlying private fund's account statement.

Current, investors barely get annual report like information for the fund they directly own.  See rule 30e-3.  It seems odd the government them i formation about a fund one step removed from the investor.


If a registered funds owns s a substantial portion in an unregistered fund, the registered funds should provide the ide nitty, summary of the strategy and an conflicts information with respect to the private fund in the registered funds offering documents and annual reports.
