March 8, 2023 RE: Automated Reporting of Purchases, Sales, Acquisitions, and Dispositions of Securities Given the numerous cybersecurity breaches experienced by federal agencies, Wall Street institutions, and service providers, creating yet another sensitive repository/opportunity for hackers and foreign powers to obtain personal financial information about federal employees in key government positions which can be used to target individuals and their accounts and assets does not make any sense. This plan creates an avoidable vulnerability without an actual problem to be addressed. Annual statement submissions already verify activity and holdings, so gathering information more frequently does not provide any new safeguards. This information is not time sensitive and simply makes the government more vulnerable to bad actors.
