The market turmoil in the United States is a direct result of the deregulations and institutional and market maker exceptions to the existing rules because of the overleveraged state of the embarassingly underregulated and under-enforced regulation of these risky financial instruments.

This market turmoil has a direct effect on European and world markets and we are looking at you, the SEC in disbelief, when you are proposing further deregulation.

This enabling of insane financial risks and deliberate overleveraging of certain financial instruments that you are de facto responsible for is ruining trust in the US markets and thus destabilizing the world financial stability.

You absolutely must be harder in you enforcement of irregularities and you absolutely must NOT slack the rules even further.

Chaos will ensue. It is NOT worth it.

The opportunistic funds and questionable market makers are all looking to bend the rules to their advantage and throw their competitors under the bus with no regard or feeling of responsibility towards the financial stability of the world.

It is up to you as regulators and enforcers to secure this stability through regulation and enforcement of existing rules.

If you fail at your job or if you further slack existing regulations because of your ineptitude, you will be responsible in part for destabilizing the world financial stability.

Do the right thing.
