It's time the SEC enforce the requirement that public companies disclose the ratio of CEO pay to median worker pay. For too many years the gap between those two figures has continued to widen, putting our economy at risk.
Americans are entitled to such information about corporate pay practices. It helps us evaluate the state of our economy and the soundness of individual companies. Excessive compensation at the top encourages risky practices, inhibits teamwork and reduces employee morale and productivity. And, it puts shareholder investments at risk. We all have a right to know this information.
Please insist that big corporations be transparent about their pay practices.
