Subject: RE: Disclosure Effectiveness Review

Never before have political contributions been so effectively hidden by those "influence peddlers" whose contributions have turned Politics to a corrupt system of secret societies. The Public has an absolute right to know about conflicts of interest with their spending and the SEC.

I never thought I'd live to see the day when the U.S. regressed back to the days before the Reformation and the Age of Enlightenment. We are in the Age of Concealment of Influence Peddling.

The SEC and its commissioners should continue to work on a rule requiring political disclosure from public companies, in the interests of their shareholders. Businesses should not be empowered to use backdoor political channels like nonprofits or associations to do their political bidding, and shareholders have a right to know how executives are using company resources for political purposes — especially if those purposes are against shareholders' interests.
