Subject: RE: Disclosure Effectiveness Review

Dear Representative

Enough is enough of might making right. Our democracy is under siege by powerful interests who use their large corporate pockets to influence and control what does and does not happen in the public sphere. As one step of many the The SEC and its commissioners should continue to work on a rule requiring political disclosure from public companies, in the interests of their shareholders. Businesses should not be empowered to use backdoor political channels like nonprofits or associations to do their political bidding, and shareholders have a right to know how executives are using company resources for political purposes — especially if those purposes are against shareholders' interests.

Beyond this small effort additional and mult-dimensional steps need to be taken to insure that corporations are not able to overly influence what is possible in the public good.
