Secrecy only makes the power imbalance in our country even worse. We need to protect those who have the courage to "blow the whistle" on those who overstep the law. We need that protection for our journalists, and not only for them, for their sources. This is at the heart of what it means to be a country ruled by law, rather than by those who have power.
