Climate change cannot be properly combatted if it is not approached in a manner that is reflective of the best options to replace high carbon producing energies. However, you cannot eliminate one process by building up an equally detrimental power generation program. Therefore if nuclear power is not considered in climate change discussion then the discussions are irrelevant and only attempting to remove power from one form of power generation and not actually addressing the concern of carbon emissions.
Nuclear power is the only viable process to impact climate change in a meaningful way. The campaign to make nuclear seem bad and scary ignores the negative environmental impacts of wind, solar and mass battery generation for the means of developing cleaner energy. While these methods have benefits, their full potential, specifically that of electric vehicles, cannot be fully realized if we do not embrace the clean and green energy aspects of nuclear power. It is hands down, the safest and cleanest form of entertainment production available. Neglecting to discuss it and the viability of it throughout the climate change discussion shows that no one wants to address climate change or energy production concerns.
