Please require natural gas companies to have third party verification of reserves. Apparently this requirement was either removed, or never implemented. This creates a huge incentive for gas companies to OVERSTATE reserves to keep stock prices high. In 2008, when i first started working on natural gas issues, an expert David Hughes from Canada, former head of the Potential Gas Cmte for the Canadian Geological Survey, told me that fracked gas was simply a land and stock play, that the commodity price didnt cover the production cost. He was right What a tragedy that we have wasted so much time and energy on this climate-cooking fossil fuel.
