Hello, I am an entrepreneur and business owner working to make available products to reduce adverse impacts on the environment. I am writing to urge the SEC to improve disclosure of ESG data. It is a recurring theme to hear of, and see material evidence presented that large petrochemical companies, such as Exxon, are investing billions of dollars to undermine climate change reduction efforts. I am concerned that investor and consumer interest in ESG have led to pervasive use of the term without clarity about what it means or how it is calculated. But it is clear that ESG and climate change disclosures are material and should be disclosed in a consistent and supportable manner and subject to SEC oversight.
