I am writing to implore you to re-think the proposed rescission of climate-related disclosures. The existing rule requires publicly traded companies to disclose their climate risks in financial filings. Not requiring this information leaves investors and the public-at-large in the dark when it comes to climate risk. It seems shocking that the SEC, who should be protecting transparency for investors and the public at large, would consider doing away with this rule. Look around you: climate risk is EVERYWHERE, and pretending otherwise is short-sighted and foolish. Please retain the rule requiring climate-related disclosures.
