Chairman Atkins I did not misunderstand your proposal to allow corporations to end quarterly reporting. Although you phrase it as “optional”, you are fully aware that the vast majority of corporations will decrease the frequency of reporting. I’m sure you are also fully aware that this experiment did not end well when conducted in the UK. Your proposal if it comes to fruition will only benefit large corporations, and it very much seems like that is the goal. Decreased reporting frequency, lends itself to increased insider trading opportunities, decreased executive criminal liability, and greatly decreased transparency for investors.
