I am classified as an SEC large trader financial information about companies needs to be as transparent and timely as possible for equity markets to function efficiently. I see no benefit to companies from decreasing their reporting requirements. But a huge detriment to investors. in fact in the age of AI, it should be possible to create a agentic financial agents which would continuously summarize accounting data and make it available in real time This would cost even less than doing quarterly reports So if you're going cancel quarterly reporting requirements go to the opposite extreme.. Make real time financial summaries available on a daily basis. there's no possible justification for blacking out company information for 6 months at a time as far as I can tell so don't do it.
