My name is Genise Dawson. I am a consultant and a grandmother who is building a nest egg for my grandkids. Understanding stock values and market history is already difficult for everyday investors. Allowing public companies to hide their financial results for six months would make it even harder for people like me to make informed decisions.

Quarterly reporting has protected investors for more than fifty years. It is one of the few tools regular people have to understand what is happening inside the companies we invest in. This proposal would keep executives, lawyers, and large institutional investors fully informed while the rest of us are left in the dark. That is not transparency. It is a deliberate choice to disadvantage the public.

This tells me everything I need to know about the character and priorities of the people pushing this forward. They are not concerned with integrity or fairness. Since they have made that clear, I will make my response clear as well.

I will rally my friends, colleagues, and every investor I know who relies on their accounts to grow their income. We will make this a political issue. We will not limit our focus to this proposal. We will address every policy that undermines trust and accountability.

We will petition. We will organize. We will contact our representatives and demand that they enforce standards that protect the people who are directly impacted by these decisions.

If companies want access to public investment, they must remain accountable to the public. Anything less is unacceptable.
