My name is Doug Balcom, age 65. After a long career in software engineering, the shifting priorities of the tech world have forced me to switch to contract work as a long-distance vehicle delivery driver -- giving me a valuable perspective on how both the white-collar and blue-collar worlds are affected by the actions of corporate executives and the managers who answer to them. Even though I no longer own stock, I am acutely aware of the importance of transparency and public accountability in corporate decision-making and finances.
