To SEC, I oppose reducing or eliminating quarterly reporting requirements. As an investor, I rely on quarterly disclosures to make informed decisions. Longer gaps between reports create a greater information advantage for corporate insiders over the public. Making quarterly reporting optional does not solve the problem, as companies whose investors most need timely information may be the least likely to provide it. Any cost savings to companies are outweighed by the loss of transparency, fairness, and investor confidence in the markets.
