I am a CFA charterholder and have thought for years that it's ludicrous for me to be excluded from Accredited Investor status based on my personal net worth or income. I currently manage over $1B in assets, and am far less able to be taken advantage of than many older people who have more than $1MM in assets but have no scrutiny or ability to sniff out a predatory investment, so the argument of protecting investors from risk falls apart. I strongly believe that the CFA charter should grant me AI status.
