As a health care professional, I write to share concerns about the temporary exemption that would allow certain distributed ledger venues to trade tokenized versions of listed stocks without registering as exchanges, and certain liquidity providers to operate without registering as dealers. Health care professionals understand how closely financial security and health are connected. A family that loses its savings to a scam or a failed platform does not only lose money. It can lose stability, peace of mind, and sometimes the ability to pay for care. Retirees and people on fixed incomes have the least room to absorb that kind of loss. The order does not limit who may trade on these venues, so ordinary investors can take part. I respectfully ask the Commission to make sure tokenized stocks carry the same registration, disclosure, and market integrity protections as traditional securities, and to treat this relief as truly temporary.
