Dear Commissioners: I have invested for many years with the help of a financial advisor. Those investments are part of how I plan for retirement and maintain financial security. I know that markets can change, but I also know that disruptions and uncertainty can have consequences for people who are counting on their savings. I understand the appeal of new technology in financial markets. But when a stock is offered in tokenized form, investors should be able to tell how it compares with an ordinary share: what rights it carries, where and when it trades, and how its price is determined. If the same company's stock can trade on different venues under different standards, it may become harder to know whether the price is fair or whether an order received a reasonable execution. I ask the Commission to ensure that tokenized securities are subject to clear, consistent execution standards and that investors can see the pricing information needed to compare trades. Disclosures should explain, in plain language, what the token represents and how its protections differ, if at all, from those of a traditional stock. Investors should not have to guess whether a new form of trading offers the same basic safeguards they have come to expect. Innovation shouldn't mean investors receive fewer protections. Please make sure that new ways to trade support-not weaken-the transparency and confidence people rely on when investing for their future. Sincerely, Maryann Manion
