Subject: Comment on File Number 4-637

Dear members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:

I am writing to URGE the SEC to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending.

Both shareholders and the public must be fully informed as to how much the corporation spends on politics, which political party or parties, and most importantly, which candidates are being promoted or attacked. Disclosures should be posted promptly on the SEC's web site. This information should be easily available and transparent. No gimmiks.

What is happening in this country is outrageous! The corruption of politicians being entirely beholden to the wealthiest and the corporations in this country is destroying this country and the avergae citizen. I don't even believe we have a democracy anymore! The SEC's response to this petition will speak far louder than any words you choose to utter.

Will you, the SEC, act appropriately and require publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose ALL their political spending? Will you support the "People's" demand to know how much every corporation spends on politics and which candidates are being promoted or attacked?

If you don't, it will be proof you have been corrupted too, and have become very much an accomplice in the destruction of America, our political system and our form of government.

Thank you for considering my comment.

Sincerely,

Linda Traynor
