Subject: Comment on File Number 4-637

Dear members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:

I am writing to urge the SEC to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending. The owners of a corporation -- the stock holders -- have a right to know how their earnings are being spent. Prospective owners -- the public -- should also have that right. To require otherwise would emasculate any sort of corporate oversight.

I thank you for considering my comment.

Sincerely,

Brian Toby
