Subject: Comment on File Number 4-637

Dear members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:

Our founding fathers created a government with lots of checks and balances. These checks and balances are an attempt to keep things honest. With this in mind, I am writing to urge the SEC to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending. By requiring corporations to disclose money they spend on political donations, it would perpetuate a system of checks and balances to protect both normal citizens in addition to the shareholders.

Both shareholders and the public must be fully informed as to how much the corporation spends on politics and which candidates are being promoted or attacked. Disclosures should be posted promptly on the SEC's web site.

Thank you for considering my comment.

Sincerely,

Josephine Campbell
