Greetings.
I am sending you this email to respectfully request that the SEC issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending. The controversial Citizens United decision has changed the way we elect our government officials, skewing the advantage to the favor of multinational corporations. I fear for the survival of democracy.
But if corporations know they will have to disclose their attempts to influence elections, they might think twice about trying. The SEC has a real opportunity to stand up for democracy. Please issue this vitally important rule!
