Dear Members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:
It's long past time to end secret political spending by corporations.
So I strongly support the SEC issuing a rule in the near future that would require publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their spending on political activities.
When an individual person contributes to a federal campaign, their donations can be tracked in Federal Election Commission records. If corporations are "persons," then they should be subject to the same contributory transparency as real persons. Enacting a rule requiring corporations to disclose their political spending will provide that transparency.
Thank you for considering my comment.
Sincerely,
Gary Duck
