Dear Members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:
It is UnAMERICAN to allow secret political spending by corporations that favors policies generally against the people that work for them. It also generally negatively impacts the country we are all trying to improve for the next generation. It's unfair, unethical and unAMERICAN as stated before.
I strongly support the SEC issuing a rule in the near future that would require publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their spending on political activities and charities and societies designed to hide their true identities.
Both shareholders and the public deserve to know how much a given corporation spends on politics (directly and through intermediaries), and which candidates are being promoted or attacked. The people need to know whom they can trust to do business with -- those corporations that work to improve our lives and well-being, and those that work in secret against us.
Thank you for considering my comment.
Sincerely,
Pamela Reiter
