Dear Members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:
Corporations are not people, they
are almost all large organizations run by wealthy persons who only care about their profits, not about workers or the unemployed, or the people without health care or sufficient nutrition for themselves or their children, or for the homeless. Some don't even care about their own shareholders.
The legislation and candidates they back with huge sums of money are those who will grow the profits of their corporations.
So I strongly support the SEC issuing a rule in the near future that would require publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their spending on political activities.
Both shareholders and the public deserve to know how much a given corporation spends on politics (directly and through intermediaries), and which candidates are being promoted or attacked.
Thank you for considering my comment.
Sincerely,
joan jones
