This is NOT a form letter.
The fact that the Securities and Exchange Commission decided to DROP an EXISTING rule that required publicly traded corporations to disclose their political spending is VERY, VERY telling.
All too often, the government entities that are supposed to regulate corporations in the PUBLIC's INTEREST end up co-opted by the corporations they are supposed to be regulating.
This decision by the SEC to drop this particular rule looks like the SEC has been co-opted.
As a member of the public, and as an investor that the SEC is supposed to be protecting, I DEMAND that the rule be returned to the unified agenda and KEPT there.
I know you're getting a lot of form letters that give the reasons why this rule is important, so I won't repeat those reasons --but I agree with all of them.
