SEC

I am deeply concerned about the influence of corporate money on our electoral process.

In particular, I am appalled that, because of the Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, publicly traded corporations can spend investors' money in secret.

I am writing to urge the Securities and Exchange Commission to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending.

Both shareholders and the public must be fully informed as to how much the corporation spends on politics and which candidates are being promoted or attacked. Disclosures should be posted promptly on the SEC's web site.

Why should you make this decision?  Personally,  it isn't a matter of which party a company supports financially - it is a matter of  which department of OUR government is being influenced for the purpose of these entities to gain control of regulations for consumer products.
The enormous amount of permissible toxic substances used for consumer products and procedures have made our world a threat to the existence of a normal life for humans; the air they breath, the resources
depended on and, sadly, the reproduction of human life.   Please help
your fellow citizens and investor's gain the gift of  choice to purchase or invest in  products which are not toxic to humans or their environment.

If a company is honest with nothing to hide, there will be zero need to spend investor's money in secret.

Thank you for considering my comment.

Sincerely,

Diane Weidenhamer
