I am writing to urge the Securities and Exchange Commission to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending – and to do so this year.

“Dark money” groups that accept contributions from corporations, but are not required to publicly identify their corporate donors, spent millions of dollars during the 2012 elections. It is a scandal that money from publicly traded corporations – which belongs to investors – can be secretly spent to distort our democracy.

The Supreme Court’s ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission created the loophole that enables this secret spending, but the SEC has the authority to close it.

Both shareholders and the public must be fully informed as to how much corporations spend on politics and which candidates are being promoted or attacked. Disclosures should be posted promptly on the SEC’s web site.

We need many more New Deal democrat alliance, coaltion democrat party democrats in TN/GA and other southern states on all levels of state, local,FEd and in the TVA,itself to help in areas that we need, in promoting more natural tourism, clean waters, more conservation/preservation, water democracy, healthcare, clean energy, social/economic justice, civilrights, affirmative action, conservation of aquifers, open lands, rural areas, andm more. We need more ethics for students of all ages, backgrounds, etc., going on or offline to school to have more rights, to go, finish school, and  thier higher degrees, without being discriminated against, in any way  for going to school online, or being older, etc. We need these kinds of democrats permanently in office, fully alligned with the trueblue National Democratic party, etc.
We do not need our elections bought by corporations (or the TVA,itself, or Oak Ridge), however there should be more democratic corps, small business associations, natural and small farmers alliances, and even progressive liberal christians/catholics, Christiandemocrat, and LeftChristian .orgs and others there to help with getting New Deal democrats in office in all areas, as there are many in the above areas not being represented.
We do not need big businesses such as Wal-Mart or others, payday lenders, chambers of commerce, bankers, mortgage lenders, real estate developers/builders/construction corps, etc, to be making the choices for us!
Also, we need someone that will go in with the conservation corps and remove these new developments in areas, they never should have been placed in at all!

Thank you for considering my comments.
