SEC Comment file 4-637

Dear Comment file 4-637,

Although I personally have issues with any group spending money to affect government elections, I can understand that as long as we give anyone the right to give campaign donations, wealthy people (and
corporations) will take advantage of their wealth and give more money.
However, at the very least, the SEC needs to make such donations public so that the rest of us know the kind and amount of influence those companies and individuals are trying to buy. They may have a right to spend what they like but we the people have an equal right to know about it. Until we rid ourselves of people buying influence in campaigns as a country, we need to have the SEC make any and all campaign donations public so that at least we're all aware of who is trying to buy that influence.

Sincerely,

Justin Birnholz
