Securities and Exchange Commission

Dear Securities and Exchange Commission,

I am writing to urge you to return rule #4-637 to the 2014 rulemaking agenda for swift enactment. Requiring publicly held companies to disclose the amount they spend with respect to political campaigns is absolutely critical as a means of ensuring democracy. Without transparency, the democratic process becomes polluted with money from a very small elite who becomes able to manipulate and control political processes, thus, diluting democracy until, one day, no democracy exists.

The death knell of democracy is an outcome when the political process becomes overwhelmed with dark money, lack of transparency, and the influence and power of big business.

Please pass this rule---it is a move in the direction of restoring democracy.

Please enact rule #4-637. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Dr. Wanda Woodward
