I am writing to urge the Securities and Exchange Commission to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending - and to do so now. In a world where it has become increasingly hard to discern fact from opinion, accurate information is key. No longer are truths self evident, but must be weighed according to the source. Instrumental in this analysis is the knowledge of financial considerations made by contributions to our lawmakers and on whose behalf these contributions are made. Without disclosure the foundation of our government is eroded, and with it our way of life.
