Subject: Comment on File Number 4-637

July 25, 2013

I need your help. As a citizen and as a shareholder I need to know about the political contributions of publicly traded corporations. I urge the SEC to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending – this year.

Secret donations to political campaigns by corporations subvert democracy, mislead voters and we're seeing the results in our dysfunctional and corporate oriented government!

As a shareholder I need to know how corporations are budgeting and using the corporate funds, of which I am part owner. I strongly object to corporations that I own shares in spending corporate funds to secretly support campaigns that I am opposed to. Please issue this rule so that I can make informed decisions about the stocks I choose to buy and the directors I may have the opportunity to vote for or against.

Both shareholders and the public must be fully informed as to how much corporations spend on politics and which candidates are being promoted or attacked. Disclosures should be posted promptly on the SEC’s web site.

Thank you for considering my comment.
