Securities and Exchange Comm.
Dear Securities and Exchange Comm.,
I’m writing to urge the commission’s prompt approval of rules requiring public disclosure of political spending by publicly-held companies. Disclosure is vital to the SEC’s responsibility to ensure that investors have the information they need to make sound decisions about when and where to put their money. Shareholders also have a right to know how companies in their investment portfolios are investing that money, particularly when the spending falls outside the company’s normal business activity.
I am a shareholder in mutual funds and I certainly want to know how the companies I invest in is being spent. There is FAR too much secrecy and political skulldugery regarding corporate spending and fund raising.
Joe America does NOT intend to have this country handed over to the wealthy and corporate elite who have routinely given us the finger! Id hate to think that the SEC, who is in charge of protecting investors, might be in cahoots with the GOP and the corporations who take every opportunity to screw Joe America!
Thank you for considering my comment.
