The SEC should require publicly traded corporations to disclose their contributions to political causes. As a shareholder, I do not want the companies in which I own stock to contribute even a penny to groups such as the Chamber of Commerce that support particular candidates. I do not think it is a good use of shareholder equity to engage in such actions.
Shareholders have a right to know what management is doing with company money since the shareholders own the corporation.
Please immediately pass the proposed rule that requires publicly traded corporations to disclose their political spending.
Thank you for considering my comment.
Sincerely,
Douglas Snyder
