If America stands for freedom then transparency is paramount. A government structure that masks the direct relationship between government and business, undermines the freedom of the markets which become a slave to political decision made in back room deals. Simultaneously, it undermines the autonomy of the people and silences their voice in the government, as their eyes are being permanently blinded to any true political information as they are kept from any awareness of the true players they are voting for and what the stakes are.
This is true in both directions and for both parties. This should not be a partisan issue, crooks on both sides stand to lose and informed voters on both sides stand to gain. The only people who currently benefit from the current system are the corrupt.
The only way to preserve both American business and American government is to require publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all of their political spending. Anything else is a desecration of the constitution and a slap in the face to hard working Americans who strive every day to maintain the integrity of this country.
