I am writing to ask the Securities and Exchange Commission to require publicly traded corporations to disclose all or their political spending, beginning this year.

"Dark money" groups that accept contributions from corporations spent millions of dollars during the 2012 elections. The Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United created the loophole that enables this secret spending, but the SEC has the authority to close it NOW.

Our country is already suffering from the once secret organization that brought us this problem in the first place: ALEC. The American Legislative Exchange Council has already taken over the legislature in many states, and their business-friendly laws will be the ruin of our country. Requiring full disclosure will be the first step in fighting ALEC, this corporate-backed bill mill that lobbies our legislators so much, that many of them have forgotten about the people who elected them in the first place.

Thank you for considering my comment.
