Subject: Comment on File Number 4-637

February 1, 2013

Dear Members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:

It's time to end secret political spending by corporations.

So I strongly support the SEC issuing a rule in the near future that would require publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their spending on political activities.

All we're asking for is clarity. It's wrong that corporations are *selectively* treated as individuals and allowed to donate untold millions to political campaigns (corporations cannot be prosecuted for murder when they kill people, for example). Nothing undermines the will of the people more profoundly. But let us at least judge the actions of those that do.

Thank you for considering my comment.

Sincerely,

Jean-Marie Kauth
