Subject: Comment on File Number 4-637

Dear members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:

I am writing to urge the SEC to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending.

We the people ... have a right to know the influences that effect our political landscape. The idea that corporations should be allowed to hide their political spending flies in the face of the concept(s) that we as consumers have control over our economy and that we as voters have the control of our "democratic" government. How can we possibly exercise control over anything if we are not fully informed? We cannot; we can only stumble in the dark, being led by invisible forces that are out of reach. And that is NOT true democracy; that is NOT what America is supposed to be.

Thank you for considering my comment.

Sincerely,

Alison Foley
