I am strongly opposed to the proposed fiduciary standard for registered representatives. Our industry is already heavily regulated. Holding us to a new standard would impact many of us who do not provide services at all resembling the type of activity you are proposing to regulate.
Too often, we are forced to endure heavy-handed regulation and legislation because a few "bad apples" taint our profession. The current regulatory environment is sufficient if it would be properly enforced and monitored.
Please refrain from hindering our ability to best serve our clients by foisting upon us the unnecessary and harmful costs of added regulation.
