Working as a financial services representative I feel the rules and regulations that are already in placed are more than adequate for the protection of the consumers.Working as a Chartered Financial Consultant in my practice I currently apply a fiduciary duty with all my clients as well as with prospective clients.
The company I work through also applies a rigorous suitability review on all securities transactions and regular audits.
I believe imposing new regulations on broker-dealers will only incur more burden and expense which in turn will be passed along to the consumer.
The current rules and regulations are more than adequate but just need to be enforced.
