I believe strongly that the puplic should be protected from dishonest and or ignorant advisors. However pileing on heaps of regulation dosent serv the public or the advisor. A better approach would be to have the public become informed before they take action. Having them accept some responsibility would be healthy for everyone involved. This could be done by providing educational materials along with a buyer beware not to take any action until they understand the risk involved and how the product or service they are contemplating helps them to accomplish their objective. Providing a retroactive hind-sight standard of performance only serves to make people less accountable for their own actions. Good honest advisors are burdened enough with regulation. Let's punish the bad ones and allow the good ones to serve the public without tieing their hands behing their back. Thank you for considering my comments. Sincerely Marvin R. Reynolds.
