Current laws already protect the consumers, people who take advantage of other people should be punished, but let's enforce the laws that exist instead of just creating more. The new law appears to me to drive all representatives to fee-based planning. Fee-based will limit the ability of the smaller investors to get advice. In addition, it is as easy to charge excessive fees as it is to generate additonal commissions, why change the system just for the purpose of "we have to do something"
