I have been a registered rep since 7/93 and I have built my practice around my clients on the idea of taking less up front and receiving a level 12b-1 fee throughout, this acts as a fee to meet with them and to service their accounts twice a year or more if need be through face to face meetings. Removing 12b-1 fees is not a feasible idea regarding the client or the rep. What type of cost would be imposed once the 12b-1 fees are removed and the customer service that reps provide their clients could diminish as well.
